Faith Versus Foolishness

2 Corinthians 1:9b-10 (NLT) ...we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.

Faith in God demonstrates wisdom that reveres Jesus as our Savior. But foolishness displays nonsense that views Jesus as a bailer! What’s the big difference? Aside from the obvious, by faith we use wisdom in making choices and decisions while we are yet trusting God for His will in what we do. But in foolishness we dismiss wise discernment, and we go straight for whatever beckons our flesh. We don’t think about Jesus until the trouble hits – and even then – we don’t think about Jesus in a revered sense. We take Him for granted as if He is responsible for bailing us out this time and every other time we get ourselves into trouble. Faith versus foolishness – of which do you live your life with? We’d better stop the foolishness. Let’s exercise sincere faith in God, and rely on Him to lead us to the right paths for our lives.
