Protect Your Light

Luke 11:34-35 (NLT) “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is unhealthy, your body is filled with darkness. Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness.”

The state of the world and the day-to-day matters of your life have a tremendous impact on your wellbeing. Is your inner light on, and is its flame burning bright? I’m referring to the unique light of your spirit. You may be good at speaking faith while you’re actually functioning on fumes. Too often – when you not paying attention – it can appear as though your light is fully burning. But if the truth be told, it’s on the verge of fizzling out. Darkness can overcome you before you realize it, and you can lose sight of yourself. You can also lose the power of the light that God purposely created and placed in you. The world is in need of the divine benefits of that unique light that God has placed in you. And while the world doesn’t have what you need to keep your light healthy and vibrant – God does.   Protect your light. Cling to the One Who edifies the uniqueness of the light within you that is meant to shine for His Glory.

“Each of us carries a bit of inner brightness, something entirely unique and individual, a flame that’s worth protecting.” –Michelle Obama
