Isolation

2 Corinthians 12:8-9a (NLT) Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”

Isolation threatens the life of the human spirit. It is our mistake to think that we can identify the symptoms of isolation by taking notice of the absence of individuals who are generally involved in activities. While this is a flag of concern, there are still people with whom we are engaged in life at our homes, at our jobs, etc., who manage to function in isolation. Their flags aren’t always easy to perceive. When the energy and joy of one’s spirit has been exhausted, broken, or crushed– it’s hard to fight against the company of isolation. But God sees His children in their weakness, and He will sustain them through the process of having their joy for living restored. It doesn’t feel good in its present season, but we only need to reach out to God and to each other. It’s a must, because God’s got far more wonderful days in store for us.
