Pay Close Attention

2 Peter 1:19-20 (AMP) So we have the prophetic word made more certain. You do well to pay [close] attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and light breaks through the gloom and the morning star rises in your heart.

The Word of God never leads us astray. God’s Word is alive and relevant in every season of our life. In every matter, every hope, every concern, every good and not so good moment – a light shines forth from the scriptures to guide and train us, comfort and uplift us, admonish and convict us, warn and enlighten us, inspire and encourage us. We behold the wisdom treasures of the scriptures by paying attention – close attention – to what God says. Having the unwavering conviction to take God at His Word, to store His Word in our heart, and to stay focused on exactly what He said - just as He said it - is a well-lit path for us to travel.
