Choose Your Company

Proverbs 13:20 (NLT) Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

Sometimes we find ourselves in a position where we’ve got to separate ourselves from the company we keep, because God is preparing us to go somewhere, and they can’t tag along with us. We recognize what God is up to, and we know it is necessary to make the change. What makes it hard for us is our concern about others not understanding what God has assigned us to do and their opinion of us because we are ‘changing’. We can either choose God’s company and move on in the direction He leads us, or we can stay in the company of those who pose a hindrance to our growth and purpose. To choose God is to choose progressive experiences throughout our lifetime. But to remain where we are is a certain guarantee that we will inevitably regret the company we’re in and the company of our ‘self’.
