What Matters Most
Romans 14:8-9 (NLT) If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord of both the living and of the dead.
Take a reflective look at a situation when you were being wronged by someone, and you knew that you were right about the matter. More important than the issue, more important that the resolve, and more important than you being right – did you give any further thought about the other person? I mean – did you decide that the person was no longer of value – based on your expectations? Do you think the person was able to learn anything from you that would make them want to reevaluate and improve their own behavior? In matters regarding right and wrong – for you and for me – it’s really about the ‘Who’ in our life that matters most. The connectivity of the body of Christ depends on each member of His body working together as a team for Jesus, and not allowing interferences to separate us from each other and from His body as a whole. If all we want to get out of conflicts is the acknowledgement that we are right – then we’re wrong. Selah.
