Scouts For The Lord (National Boy Scouts Day)

2 Peter 1:5b (NLT) Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge...

Boy Scout Programs are being admonished this month for the fellowship, volunteerism, leadership, life skills, and moral character training they provide for our children. Such opportunities help to develop a spirit of excellence in our youth, setting the pathway for them to grow up and become world changers for mankind and society. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Hank and many other well-known leaders, artist, and activists participated in scouting programs when they were children. The earlier our youth are involved in activities that can effectively develop virtues that align with the character principles of our Lord and Savior, the more time there is for such disciplines to become ingrained in their spirit. All in all, the Bible provides training in moral and spiritual character virtues that all people need. I guess you could say that children and adults alike go through training as scouts for the Lord. How about that?
