You Want ‘Easy’?

Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT) Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.

Our plans don’t always work out like we want them to. They don’t always go in A, B, C order. There isn’t necessarily anything bad or wrong with our plans. It may just be that there is more to them than meets our eyes. So, instead of giving up or quitting – let’s take a pause on things to see what God is trying to say to us. God is always up to something good for us, even when it appear so. We tell ourselves that ‘this and that will be easy’. That’s not always the case. But if we want ‘easy’ we need to take on the yoke Jesus offers to us. We may still have to endure some tough times, but they will be easier to bear. Through the process, Jesus will lighten our burdens and bring to light what’s best for us.
