When We Respect God...

Matthew 6:9 (NLT) ... “Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.

...we show up because of our respect for Him – over and over again. When we mess up, we still show up. When we fall way short of His Glory (which happens all of the time) we show up. When we are angry, confused, selfish, depressed, hateful – we still show up. Why? Because we don’t belong to ourselves, and He loves us regardless of our good or bad days. We can’t do anything else but respect God for Who He is toward us. When we respect God, we – in spite of our flaws – have an adoration of His love and care for us that is everlasting. When we respect God, we acknowledge that there is no one else and nowhere else for us to turn to. God understands us better than we’ll ever understand ourselves, and we respect Him enough to keep showing up so that He can continue to mold us into the better people we are to become.
