Stay Ready
1 John 3:2-3 (MSG) But friends, that’s exactly who we are: children of God. And that’s only the beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see him—and in seeing him, become like him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own.
When we think we have seen the best, lived the best, given the best, and demonstrated the best of ourselves in the earth – I say, “Hold on, and stay ready!” The reason being is that all of the best that we experience in our lives is simply a part of the process of getting to our utmost best. No matter what we think or how great of an imagination we may have – we earnestly have no clue as to how great our best really is! Our ‘best’ already ‘is’ according to God’s will in Heaven. We’re living out a journey that is equipping us with Kingdom virtues so that when Jesus returns for us, we’ll be ready to go! So, when it comes to you being your best self you – are you being true to yourself and to God, or are you mimicking the characteristics of the world? Stick with being your authentic self so that when He returns, Jesus can show you the rest of the best of who you are!
