Playtime

Proverbs 22:6 (MSG) Point your kids in the right direction—when they’re old they won’t be lost.
When our children/grandchildren ask us to play with them, we ought not dismiss the experience.
In those moments – no matter what responsibilities are running through our minds –we can demonstrate to them that playtime honors God with joy. We don’t want our children to grow up thinking that they can’t take time out to laugh and be silly because the utility bill has to be paid and the groceries must be bought. That is a slave mentality. We want them to understand that God takes care of us – all of the time! With God as the Head of our homes – it is therein that we hone love, security, identity, discipline, unity, and joy within our children. Our playtime interactions help them to comprehend a balance between work and play. Work is important, yes...but play is just as important, too. Playtime with our children reminds us of the trusting care God provides us. Never lose the childlike joy within your spirit!
