Speak for Yourself

Ephesians 4:29 (CSB) No foul language should come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.

Whenever you have something you need to say to someone, say it for yourself. It’s easy to speak for yourself when you know what you have to say will bring joy to a person’s life. They want to hear it directly from you. It’s more meaningful that way! But it can be uncomfortable when you need to tell someone something that they may not want to hear, but they need to know. Before you relay through other means – speak for yourself. As long as you speak from a place of genuine love, whatever you have to say can be a builder-upper for you, the person you speak to, and the present and future of the connection you have with one another. You are the best person to speak the grace you have for others.
