The Difficulty Of Ourselves
 
Proverbs 23:26 (CSB) My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.
 
It stands repeating: God is Love. He’s not hard, and neither are His ways. What is difficult – however – is our stubbornness towards God. If we take two steps forward towards Him, we end up taking five steps backwards just so we can do life on our own terms. For example, let’s say that someone has offended us. It usually takes a ‘looooong’ time for some of us to get back to a place of cordial civility with the person, and even then – it’s just an eggshell layer covering our unforgiveness or want for payback. We might as well admit it. When we offend God He loves us and forgives us completely when we repent. What if we don’t repent? Then He loves us still and our fault becomes a lesson He will use along the way to make us better people. So, it really isn’t hard to observe and follow the ways of God. We just need to surrender the difficulty of ourselves to Him, and follow His ways.
