Where Is Your Head At?
Isaiah 43:18-19a (CSB) Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it?
One of the most unproductive spaces that we can get ourselves stuck in is that space of ‘insisting that we always have our way’. In real time – we’re living just for ourselves in a space that has a ceiling, a floor, four walls – and no windows. It’s a stalled life with no fresh air! Where’s our head at? If we insist on having our way all of the time, then we’re cutting ourselves off from new ideas, fresh perspectives, and meaningful relationships. We easily make ourselves vulnerable targets for the adversary to ruin our lives because we think that we’re right to live this way. Nah, Boo - we can’t stay like that. We’ must change our mindset, and change that habit. We’ve got to punch some holes in our walls and let some fresh air in. We’ve either been fighting, denying, or hiding from some lies and pain within ourselves long enough. The Lord has a better plan for the way we can live our lives. When we lift our heads up to the Light, we’ll begin to see it!
