National Day of Prayer
Psalm 145:18 (CSB) The Lord is near all who call out to him, all who call out to him with integrity.
Father God,
We beseech You to listen to our prayer. The adversary is wreaking havoc on humanity, and we need You to have mercy on us and save us from his destructive forces. Violence is robbing us of people of all ages. Anyone is vulnerable to senseless and malicious acts of crime. It is hard to part ways with our loved ones from day to day not knowing if it will be the last time we’ll see them alive. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy. You are our shelter of protection. You are our refuge and our fortress. We trust in You, we love You, and we depend on You to keep Your people in Your Divine care. Please Father, continue to keep watch over us, and shield our families from the dangers in our communities and in the entire world around us. Help us in our mission to introduce more hearts to Your Son, so that the poison of the enemy cannot take root in their lives. Ease the pain of loss and suffering, and the fear of a world that has gone out of control that we are struggling with in one form or another. Replace it all with Your reassuring Presence and the comfort we have in Your Word that ‘You will never leave us or abandon us’ (Hebrews 13:5b). Give us peace beyond our understanding as we continue to ‘live under Your protection’ and ‘dwell in Your shadow’ (Psalm 91:1). We submit this prayer unto You for all of God’s people. In the Mighty Name of Jesus the Christ, Amen and Amen.
