A Friend In the Worst of Times

Luke 23:42-43 (CSB) Then he [one of the criminals hanging at the side of Jesus} said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Even in the worst of times, Jesus is a True Friend. We see this during His crucifixion. He was nailed to a cross and suspended in the air, but Jesus took the time to befriend a sinner expressed his belief in Jesus and God’s Kingdom. There isn’t a difficulty we can go through that compares to the suffering Jesus endured on the cross, and yet He didn’t let it get in the way of Him befriending and saving a confessed sinner. If you are in need of Someone to call on – call on Jesus. He sees you in your difficulty, and He’ll be your Friend and your Helper in the worst of times.
