Our Appreciation In Return

Matthew 16:24 (AMP) Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living, and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].

There is not a single matter in our lives that Jesus would deem more important than what He requires of us to be His true followers. If the death of a loved one isn’t important enough for Jesus to give us a few days off from serving Him, then surely we can’t be wishy-washy about the decision we make to follow Him in the first place. If there ever was a reason to take a risk in your life – Jesus is the Worthy Reason to commit yourself completely to His calling for you. Serving Him won’t always be easy, but He is definitely worthy of whatever we may endure in His Name. His sacrifice for us makes it so. His Victory for us makes it so. Our submission to Jesus is our response of appreciation to Him in return.
