We Will Be Like Him

1 John 3:2-3 (AMP) Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory]. And everyone who has this hope [confidently placed] in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (holy, undefiled, guiltless).

What beautiful notions we might imagine when we consider Jesus’s return, but we truly don’t have the capacity to behold the glory of our Savior. And to think that we will be just like Him when we actually get to see Him for ourselves. What this says to me is that we need to get better at seeing ourselves through the eyes of God’s love for us in the now. God’s children need not be wasting their time and their resources seeking appearance approval from the world. Through eyes of God’s love we already know that we possess an infinite beauty that does not come from the world. And to think that at the appointed time when we get to see Jesus – we’ll truly see ourselves for the first time. Praise Him!
