Wonderful Jesus!

Isaiah 9:6 (AMP) For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

I grew up listening to Andy Williams sing the holiday classic ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year’. The song always made me feel excited about Christmas and all of the things people do to celebrate and have fun. I still very much enjoy listening to and singing the song. But when I got to know Jesus and grow in the knowledge of Him, I began looking for Him in everything that had to do with Christmas. After all, Jesus is the reason for Christmas...am I right? But I found that there exists a one-dimensional view of Christmas that doesn’t include Jesus. Why is Christmas the most wonderful time of the year? It’s not because of jingle bells, marshmallows, ghost stories, mistletoeing, and parties – even though all of those things are fun! It’s the most wonderful time of the year because God sent His Son Jesus into this dark world to bring us Light and Hope – to save us from ourselves! The Most Wonderful attribute of Christmas is our Lord and Savior - Wonderful Jesus!
