Joy of the Spirit

Luke 1:41 (AMP) When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, her baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered by Him.

It usually isn’t until someone becomes ill or is suffering a loss that we as believers become more concerned about how they are doing in their spiritual capacity. Why is that? I suggest that part of the reason is because we function with each other by our physical sight more so than we interact with each other in our spiritual awareness. The other part of the reason is that we fall short of establishing our relationships on the foundation of our spiritual connection to Christ versus our physical existence in this world. Look at the response of Elizabeth’s baby when Mary spoke! Joy of the Holy Spirit rose up in her inner being because her baby sensed the Spirit of God within Mary’s womb! That’s the essence of our connection one to another. God’s children are meant to be spiritually connected in all times. Our spiritual lives keeps us attached to the Vine of Christ and to each other. The joy of the Spirit flourishes within us more when we stay connected.
