Did You Notice God?

Psalm 39:4 (AMP) “Lord, let me know my [life’s] end and [to appreciate] the extent of my days; Let me know how frail I am [how transient is my stay here].

Brenda knelt at the side of her bed and gave thanks for what - as far as she was concerned - was the most awesome day God had ever made. When she woke up the next morning, she supposed she was awake in a dream. She was sitting at a desk - topped with a sheet of paper and a pen - in the middle of the shopping mall. People were going in and out of the stores, talking, and laughing – but she could hear nothing. Then a light beamed directly upon her, and she heard God speak. He said to her, “Brenda, I watched over you yesterday, and I noticed all the things you did that made you happy. Last night when you thanked Me for making the day so awesome, I was concerned. I did not see where you spent any time taking delight in the beautiful day that I created. So, I want you to write down at least two specific things you noticed about yesterday that was so ‘awesome’ to you.” Ashamedly, Brenda picked up the pen and scribbled on the paper: (1) she was the first shopper at the mall, and (2) she caught a lot of good sales. Using Brenda as an example, ask yourself the question, “Is this how I am towards God?” Take notice of the Nature and Goodness of God in your life each day, and give Him praise!
