Returning the Favor

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (AMP) Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

During the holiday season, there are people who – with all their might – try their best to not fall into what I refer to as a spiritual sinkhole. You know what I’m talking about – that spiritual depression that happens when the heart begins to long for loved ones who have passed away. The memories of past times full of joy and celebrations with loved ones who are now gone can be so vivid, making it that much more difficult to be in the present without them. But it’s alright. God understands what His children are going through. It won’t always feel like this. For you to get through the process of this residual grieving and get to a place of renewed joy – you have to first want to get out of that sinkhole. When you’re ready to move forward, then you must be willing to let those who have been comforted and restored by God’s grace and mercy return the favor to you. God is right here for you through the service of His vessels in the earth. Receive us. We are here for you.
