One Task At A Time

Psalm 25:4-5 (NLT) Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.

You and I can’t be everywhere and involved in everything that is going on around us – and expect to be healthy, whole, and effective people of God. We weren’t created to stretch ourselves thin. And yet, we do it anyway - not realizing that the effectiveness of our service is minimum - and the effectiveness of our spiritual strength is reduced to a relationship without a connection. Come Holy One! Are you guilty of being a ‘one man or one woman show’? Really now, is it worth it to be a ‘do it all person’ – someone who is indispensable to everyone else – and absent from God and one’s own self? No, it isn’t. It is pleasing to the Lord when we take on one task at a time. He’ll be our Ever-Present Helper, and we can be who He has purposed us to be. Selah.
