Daily Delight
John 8:29 (NLT) “...And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases him.”
Living with the mindset that God is right here with us – closer to us than a physical person whom we can touch – makes it rather amazing to realize how important even the simplest decisions we make are - regarding our relationship with Him. Think about it...we ask God to help us eat healthier, right? Well, we go to a restaurant, and the menu offers a nutritious vegetable plate and a delicious mega pork BBQ plate. It’s decision time, but is it an ‘I’ or a ‘we’ decision? We should not be confused about making the preferences of God our daily delight, because God only wants what’s best for us. Of course we want the BBQ, but we know that the veggie plate aligns more to the healthier eating we asked God to help us with. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4). That’s what the scriptures tell us. Have you ever known the scriptures to tell a lie? You never will.
