Self-Preservation
John 7:38 (NLT) “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”

Our spirit needs rest. Just because the Holy Spirit lives in us doesn’t mean we’re supernatural beings who can just pour out and never become empty. We’re babes in Christ, always in need of spiritual milk – and times of spiritual rest. Vacation activities have their place in replenishing us and rejuvenating our physical body. Such is the same regarding peaceful retreats in nature, meditation, alone time, quietness, and stillness are much needed activities that allow our spirit to filter, rest, and reboot. Our spirit needs fluidity in order to function with love in this stiff world. Self-preservation isn’t selfish. Self-preservation is a wise action to take for the benefit of our mental, physical, and emotional state of being. Schedule regular appointments with yourself and God, and make them a routine part of your life. Peace, be still.
