Nothing to Argue About

2 Timothy 2:24-25 (NLT) A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.

God’s Word doesn’t have to be forced on anyone. Our actions can’t add strength to His Word, nor can our actions weaken it. No – God’s Word is almighty powerful on its own. That’s why our telling people about God and His Word can and should be done with a gentle assuredness of spirit. Let’s patiently tell people about God. Otherwise, we risk turning people away from Him. We end up putting ourselves in the way of reflecting the truth of Who He really is. All of us are students in the eternal course of getting to know our Father intimately. The gentle way He draws us nearer to Him says to us that we have nothing to argue about between ourselves or with others when we care enough to share the Very Best.
