To Whom Would We Go?

John 6:66-68a (NLT) At this point many of his disciples turned away and deserted him. Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, “Are you also going to leave?” Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go?...”

In thinking about all that Jesus has done for us and all that He is doing to prepare us for God’s Kingdom, you might wonder why anyone would want to leave Jesus. Well, there was a time when we ourselves didn’t know Jesus. All we knew was what we thought we wanted – that is – until we began to walk in His Light. But even after we found Jesus, I’m certain He called for us on more than one occasion, and we turned away from Him. Praise God that we eventually came to our senses. Perhaps it took a few hard knocks to persuade us. Maybe it was the emptiness, loneliness, and incompleteness in our souls that caused us to realize that without Jesus in our lives – to Whom would we go?
Aren’t you glad that when you found Him, you knew you were exactly where you belonged?
I’m sure glad I did!
