A Glimpse of Heaven

Psalm 16:11 (NLT) You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

I have a vivid imagination, and it blesses me in regards to my thoughts about death and what Heaven must be like. It’s not hard for me to understand how one’s spirit separates from the body at the time of their passing. Our physical body has no permanent hold on our spiritual nature. I’ve witnessed people near death who longed to be able to hold onto their physical identities in this world just a little while longer. I believe they might have thought differently if they could have had a glimpse of the Heaven God has prepared for us. Our life is relatively brief in the earth. It doesn’t hurt to think about what Heaven will be like when the Lord calls us to come home. Quite frankly, having Jesus in my life is all the glimpse of Heaven that I need to know that it will be well with my soul when my time to depart draws near. But until then – and I am in no hurry – I appreciate thinking about Heaven. All of my experiences in this life make Heaven worth the wait. What about you?
