Fallen Prayers

1 Samuel 12:23 (NLT) As for me, I will certainly not sin against the LORD by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right.

When we read in the Bible that we are to ‘pray without ceasing’ (1Thessalonians 5:17), we can safely assess that praying is an important, necessary, and powerful action in the life of a believer. Let’s not fool ourselves. As sure as we can spend time communicating with some of everybody everywhere about everything throughout our day, it’s certain that we can first be consistent with our prayers to the Lord. It is so sad that even believers are found guilty of prayers that never get prayed. We are aware of them – yes, we are. And yet, we leave it to chance that someone else has prayed, or we say that God already knows about it, or we just don’t bother to pray because we’re not directly impacted by a matter or a need. These are just a few instances that put us at fault for the many prayers that have fallen to the ground – never having reached the Heavens where God waits to answer the calls of His people.          In James 5:16b, the scripture says, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” God is counting on us to pray.
