Your Biggest ‘No’

Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) Don’t be afraid for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

What is something you said ‘no’ to at some point in your life, and where did that ‘no’ originate from? These are important questions you must ask yourself, because I’ve learned that your biggest ‘no’ could very well be God’s purpose for your life. I have a friend whose father resented people who had college degrees, so he vowed that his children would not go to college. My friend was an excellent student, but he grew up with his dad’s mindset. But one day the Lord caught him when he was by himself, and they actually wrestled for a while. God told him to go and earn a degree, but he kept telling God ‘no’. By the time the match was over – guess Who won? You know it! My friend answered God with a ‘yes’, and today he is using his degree to serve the Lord in a way He had once only dreamed of! My, my, my! What big ‘no’ have you been sitting on? It might not be such a bad idea to revisit it before the Lord. Your biggest ‘no’ just might be a critical piece of your purpose that you’ve been asking God to show you.
