Don’t Blow God’s Blessings

Colossians 4:6 (NLT) Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

When God reveals to me something He is going to do through me to bless me, I hold it dear to my heart. I protect what God says is for me by not pouring it out to every listening ear. Am I ever tempted to talk about it? Of course! I want to talk about it because I’m excited over the fact that I believe God for it, and I’m full of hope and gratitude. Still, I realize that to prematurely disclose what God wants me to hold to myself can cause me to blow God’s blessing. We’re so vulnerable in the flesh, but spiritual maturity counters our weakness. God has superb reasoning for the way He does things. I’m grateful that He doesn’t give us our blessings before we can handle them. Don’t make it easy for the devil. Hold to yourself whatever the Lord says is just between you and Him. Whoever else you want to share it with will know soon enough – if it is God’s will. Don’t blow it!
