Stripped - Conclusion
Proverbs 18:13 (NLT) Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and selfish.
The men looked at Lucas – some suspiciously and others with disbelief. Order was brought back to the meeting, and Lucas was given an opportunity to speak for himself. He rose from his seat and proceeded to the door where let a young woman in. She was Xavier’s daughter!!! She stood before the men and said, “Mr. Lucas was my algebra teacher when I was in high school. He’d always told me that I had a bright future ahead of me. When he learned that I’d taken a job at the strip club after my graduation, he refused to give up on me. He’s been coming to the club and talking to me about Jesus every night before I go home. He came to protect me yesterday when I decided to quit, and my employer threatened to not let me go. I just want to thank Mr. Lucas for risking his reputation to come into a dark place and pull me out. He has been like a father to me, and because of this – I have come to know my Heavenly Father better.” After a lengthy round of applause to the young lady and handshakes to Lucas, the men’s meeting was abbreviated and adjourned. One of the men asked the question, “Who will hold the dustpan while I sweep Bro. Xavier up off the floor? (It turned out that Lucas was on a mission to deliver Xavier’s own daughter from a bad situation! In the end, as it is when we hastily accuse others with our assumptions – Xavier was stripped of his pompous character. He fell to the shame he intended to harm a true man of God with.) Be mindful! Hasty accusations have a way of turning around and stripping away the boastfulness of the accuser.
