Entangled In the Curtains
Proverbs 4:25 (NLT) Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.

When Jesus took His final breath and gave up His spirit on the cross, Matthew 27:51 tells us that ‘the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom’ (NLT). From that moment on, everything of the Old Covenant was over and in the past. New and better changes were ahead, and the people of God were to move forward in that direction. There is more to life that is in store for us, and we can get to it when we let go of the past and reach for the future. Yet, many of us are caught up in the aspects of a past we haven’t forgiven and released. We approach life through the blind view of moments that no longer exist. Each time we attempt to take a step forward, we still get entangled in a veil that conceals us from the freedom that true faith in God provides us. Faith in God is the key to life. Let’s stop deceiving ourselves. We can grow from the lessons that the past has taught us, but we must leave the past behind. Looking straight ahead with hope in our hearts – let’s keep our focus on what lies before us – God, His Promises, and Eternity.
