Universal Security

Matthew 22:37 (NLT) Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

It’s gonna take more than extra-tight security systems; more than code words, cameras, and locks on the windows and doors. It’s gonna take more than legislation on handguns and other forms of weaponry; more than increased police manpower. What will it take to keep our school children, elderly, community citizens, businesses, governments, and social venues protected and safe? There’s only one ‘Answer’, and ‘His’ task is quite simple. ‘We must love one another as much as we love ourselves’. When we all embrace the value of everyone’s life the way that we embrace the value of our own life and respond toward each other with agape love for all of humanity - we will then attain the universal security that we can provide for each other by the Power of Almighty God. Until this happens, may the Eternal God of Love continue to have mercy upon us.
