Persnickety

Luke 6:31 (NIV) “Do to others as you would like them to do to you.”

Spiritually vulnerable people become prey to overly particular people. To observe any ministry that has petty-picking leadership is like watching a slow motion bowling ball roll down a lane and knock every pin down from its position. The only difference is that the bowling pins are automatically picked up and put back in their positions. But as for people who keep getting knocked down by the persnickety persuasion of others – they don’t always rebound. They often leave, move on – more hurt or discouraged than anyone deserves to be. This is an analogy of what occurs in the church body. We block the blessings that our brothers and sisters bring to the body of Christ because we focus on trivial matters like their appearance, abilities, etc., and we are guilty of bruising and even killing their spirit. We’ve got to put an end to this un-Godly behavior we have – right now and for good. Imagine how barren the church body would be if God were to get persnickety with us, you know what I mean?
