Godly Chastisement
 
Hebrews 12:11 (NLT) No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening – it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
 
God our Father is that parent Who will – and does – discipline all of His beloved children…all of them.  As children in the flesh, we got away with a lot of stuff once we figured out how to manipulate the hearts of our earthly parents and grandparents. (We’re being truthful to the soul here!) Children or not – we were bonafide manipulators!!! But trying manipulation tactics on our Heavenly Father will only guarantee His discipline on us. We can’t figure God out, and there’s no point in trying. It’s as simple as this: God loves us immeasurably, and He will discipline us when we fall out of line with what His loves means for us. Some of the rough patches we go through have nothing to do with the devil. They are about God chastening us, so we’ll wake up and be children of excellence. We can’t get mad at God for loving us so much. We are gratefully blessed with His magnitude of love for our living souls.
