What Do You Behold?

Psalm 119:36-37 (NLT) Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money! Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your Word.
What do you see when you look at the people and the things that matter most to you in your life? This can be a loaded question. Your response might reveal what is of most importance to you. We all live or have lived through seasons where our sights were set on material possessions. But as we’ve grown in our spiritual awareness, what matters most to us has changed. The continuous toil of acquiring things – at some point – teaches a valuable lesson to us. The more you labor to acquire things, the more you have to work to take care of them and be able to replace them if they become damaged, stolen, or destroyed. Things are tangible but not relational. However, when you labor to know God and to know His Word and apply it to your life, you gain a relationship with Someone Who freely gives you the benefits of blessings, grace, and mercy in every area of your life. You gain the assurance of a lifelong Partner and Friend Who connects you with people who add to your life just as much as you add to their lives. Amen.
