Turbulent Storms

Psalm 107:28 (NLT) “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves.

Turbulence – like peace - is a normal part of nature. It takes turbulence to till the soil and plant seeds in order to produce vegetation. The turbulence of the winds and rains is needed for plants and vegetation to grow and thrive. Aggressive storms – the ones that an uproot trees and cause other damages – leave pathways for restoration and new beginnings. And then there are that storm that stalls itself. It just keeps dumping and dumping in the same place until the weather pattern finally shifts and dispels it. Our lives are in sync with earth’s nature. We have turbulences that come and go, and storms that make us feel like they’ll never go away. Are you feeling like you’ve been in a storm too long? Never stop praying to the Lord about it. There may be a message or a lesson in the turbulence that is intended to bless your life in its outcome. Ask God to keep you grounded in His peace until the storm you are in passes on.
