On Guard

1 Timothy 4:1-2 (NLT) Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.

The lessons we learn from our study of God’s Word are permanent. Yet that old devil sees our mind as his playground where he can host his deceitful trickery. He aims to confuse us and cause us to turn on God. If he can’t trip us up with something he knows will appeal to us, he’ll attempt to beat us down until we fold and conform to the ways of the world. The devil will even go as far as to use someone we respect to give us the illusion that it is alright to go along with what we know perfectly well is not pleasing to God. Be on guard, and stay on guard my brothers and sisters. Stay committed to God with reverent trust. Don’t be timid about abiding by what the Holy Spirit confirms in your spirit. Stand on God’s Word alone if you must. He will protect you from worldly deceptions.
