When It Really Counts

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT) So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Muhammad Ali said that he didn’t begin counting the sit-ups he did until they began to hurt. He considered that to be the point where each sit-up really counted. There is wisdom in this concept regarding our determination to ‘hang in there’ when life experiences are arduous and hard to understand. Those times are not our ‘give-up’ moments. They are our ‘dig in our heels and make it count’ moments! The greater the positive outcome is, the tougher the challenge. When it really starts to count for us is when we’ve reached our limit, and we must totally rely on God to get us to our breakthrough! When the going gets the toughest for you, start your endurance countdown and stay at it until you attain your goals!
