Chill Out

Matthew 11:28 (NLT) Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest…”

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, when was the last time you took a vacation? Perhaps I should ask, “Have you ever taken a vacation?” Everyone needs a time for recess, a time to pause the daily grind routine. You give yourself time to be refreshed with vigor when you allow your mind, body, and spirit the time it needs to relax and play. Whether you plan a trip somewhere or you stay local and disconnect from the working mode, you must understand that recreation is a necessary activity to help you have balance in your health and wellbeing. Jesus probably shakes His head when we take ‘working’ vacations. Ha! That sounds ridiculous just thinking about it. It’s not too late to set aside some getaway time for yourself. As a matter of fact, a quarterly excursion is a goal that would benefit you in these times when there is no letup in having things to do. It would please the Lord if you would steal away with Him for some much needed rest. Don’t just think about it. Be good to your weary soul, and chill out.
