Refresh Someone’s Spirit

Philippians 2:3 (NLT) Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

How great is your passion for Jesus Christ? A weary man went to his favorite breakfast bar to refuel himself. The head waitress noticed him as he entered and took his usual seat. She walked over to the booth where the man sat and asked to take his order. But she could see that he needed something more than a meal. The man appeared to need some words of encouragement. The waitress’s kind approach led the man to share what was on his heart. After listening to him without interrupting, taking his order, and allowing him time to benefit from a hot meal, the waitress returned to the booth and made a bet with the man that there was nothing going on in his life that was too hard for God to take care of. She went on to encourage the man with such compassion until a brightness in his eyes transformed his entire posture into one of renewed confidence! Does the flame inside of your heart burn with brilliance because of your passion for your Savior? Use it to kindle the embers of someone else’s heart so that they, too, can have a heart of passion for Jesus!
