To Be Called ‘Daddy’

Luke 15:20 (NIV) So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

When a man becomes a father, he is introduced to yet a deeper level of God’s love that is beyond the love he knows as a son, grandson, nephew, friend, or spouse. As a father, he is a strong stature of a man who completely feels an enormous bundle of emotions that overtake his mind, heart, soul, and his perspective on life. Holding his child in his arms – he holds the authentic and living craftsmanship of God Himself. How amazing! How honorable! Complete is a father’s love for his children who are dependent on his strong and protective presence in their life. Protector, provider, teacher, playmate, adventuring friend… a father’s love is irreplaceable in the foundation of his children’s development, and future legacy. Next to being called a ‘man of God’ – to be called ‘daddy’ is life’s next highest honor a man can acquire. Happy Father’s Day to all the men God has blessed to become fathers.
