In This Brief Time That We Have

John 14:1-3 (NIV) “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. …”

The events of the world cannot forecast the return date of Jesus. It’s as if people think that the only thing keeping Jesus from returning is that something hasn’t happened to make Him mad enough to come back yet. Jesus doesn’t have to get mad to handle His Father’s business. He’s actually glad! He’s already handled His Father’s business, and He’s still handling His Father’s business in the earth right now through His faithful followers. Yes, Jesus is working in our lives to prepare us in our Kingdom citizenship. There’s going to be a grand gathering that will last for eternity, so everything has to be just right! It took six days for God to create and complete this beautiful world that we live in. But in His preparation of our Kingdom home – it’s been over 2,000 years – and He’s still getting ‘us’ ready to come home. In this brief time that we have, let’s stay focused on our development and our work in Jesus and not worry about what worldly event might be the catalyst of His return. We already know that we are the reason Jesus is coming back. Let’s be ready every day for His return. Amen.
