God Will Pick Up the Tab

Isaiah 66:5-6 (NIV) Hear this message from the Lord, all you who tremble at his words: “Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name. ‘Let the Lord be honored!’ they scoff. ‘Be joyful in him!’ But they will be put to shame. What is all the commotion in the city? What is that terrible noise from the temple? It is the voice of the Lord taking vengeance against his enemies.”

Our loyalty to God targets us for blessings and curses. The blessings come from God, but the curses come from the world. Insults and condemnations get under our skin and pierce our hearts. Whether they are bold, subtle, or slight – reactions toward our loyalty to God that don’t revere Him are reactions that pose to disclaim Him. And that’s a spiritual bill that must be paid! We are encouraged to keep on serving with loyalty to God and His Word, and we’re not to take it personal when we encounter people who mock us for our cemented conviction in Jesus Christ. If they’re bold enough to make a charge against God, they’ll eventually find out just how big our God is when He picks up the tab! As with any parent – the last thing anyone ever wants to do is mess with God’s children! Amen!
