Mercy’s Reach

James 2:13(NLT) There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.

Jesus has a heart of compassion for people in every walk of life. If this were not so, then we who are a part of His body would not have received His mercy. Instead, judgement and condemnation would be our eternal lot. The mercy Jesus gives to us is what we are to implement – to carry out – to the harvest of souls that the world more readily judges than it extends an act of grace. ‘The harvest is great, but the workers are few’ (Matthew 9:37b) isn’t all because there aren’t enough saints to go into the fields. The harvest requires saints who share the compassionate heart of Christ so that mercy’s reach can bring in the sheaves! When we put aside our judgement of others and see them through the eyes of mercy, we’ll no longer trample over the people who are in need of mercy’s reach to save them.
