Followship Power

“We can’t afford to sit anything out, any more than we can afford to have so-called leaders who sit and take it.” – Paul Leroy Robeson (1898-1976) American artist, actor, athlete, and activist
The late Dr. Myles Monroe said that true leaders invest in people so they can leave successors to their success. By doing so, the leader’s works become the legacy of the people he leaves behind. But in order for a true leader – a great leader – to endow his successors, he needs to have committed followers. When great followship binds together with great leadership, the work God channels through the leaders can increasingly grow and continue on throughout generations of followers who become mentors and leaders in their lifetimes. In your family, who’s following you? Who will be the successor of the legacy you will leave behind? Did you know that we have such power as followers of Jesus? His legacy is His church – His followers – and it continues on through you and me. His legacy is what will take us home to live with Him in Heaven when He returns for His church. Selah.                          “Choose some wise, understanding and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will set them over you.” Deuteronomy 1:13 (NLT)
