Sharpen Your Character Skills

Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV) Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

People have all sorts of things in common, but there is only one absolute thing that everybody has in common. That absolute thing is that everybody needs love. We make this difficult to receive when we don’t walk in love that has the character of Love Himself…patience, kindness,…you know the rest. We blame each other for this because we fall short in the character traits of Love. This won’t get us anywhere. But when we consider how Jesus takes love and makes us - the most sinful, difficult, and troubled people - feel hopeful, valued, and loved – we should be more inclined to offer the same to each other. Our love for one another is what we’re in need of everyday. You and I know it, and we need to show it. Let’s sharpen our character skills so we can live and love in the character of our Savior.
