Uncommon Truth / Uncommon Power
“Once a man walked this earth and spoke with such uncommon power that He separated history into B.C. and A.D., …the teachings he proclaimed become newer and more challenging as the centuries roll.” – Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. (1908 – 1972) American Baptist Pastor; First African American elected to Congress from New York; First African American elected from any state in the Northeast
Everywhere we look we see lawmakers investing thousands of hours of time in shifting and changing the wording of their new (same old) rules to create another law that will work for some and won’t work for many. It’s crazy, and it’s driving people crazy. But look at our Jesus! Referred to as a ‘man with uncommon power’ while He was in the earth, Jesus spoke God’s law for God’s people. All these centuries later, God’s Spoken Word hasn’t changed in the least, yet it continues to change us and challenge all people for the good of God’s Kingdom; all people – that is – who put their total trust in Him. God’s truth can’t be twisted or changed. I’d rather serve a Risen Savior any day than to entrust my life to the laws of earthly men, wouldn’t you? “Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.” John 17:17 (NLT)
