Three Days
 
Mark 15:46 (NIV) So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock.
 
There wasn’t time to properly anoint Jesus’s dead body before the arrival of the Sabbath. It would have to wait. Did anyone who listened to Jesus realize that it wouldn’t be necessary to anoint His body for a permanent grave after the Sabbath? He said He would rise from death in three days. But look at God! As it would happen, Mary - the sister of Lazarus whom Jesus raised from the dead – anointed Jesus’s feet with an expensive perfume and wiped his feet with her hair. She did this six days before Jesus had His last supper with His disciples (John 12:1-3). Being that He had been anointed in advance of His death on the cross, there would be no interruption in Jesus’s victory over death. Thank you, Joseph of Arimathea, for placing our Lord’s body in a borrowed grave. He only needed it for a little while, because Sunday morning was on its way.
